The Salcom Satellite Receiver creates the ability to implement messaging networks independent of a terrestrial data carrier by utilising digital satellite TV providers to deliver messaging data to remote transmitters not covered by existing networks.
Voice Call Router
The Voice call Router SELCALL encoder function is to translate the RS232 commands from a PC based CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) system to 600 Ohm balanced audio signals. The decoder function translates audio SELCALL sequences in the 5-Tone + Status or 13-tone SELCALL formats from radio equipment to RS232 data suitable for CAD software.
Satellite Paging System
Each system allows an almost limitless number of Pagers onto the network, which are assigned to registered User organisations. Each Decoder system can enable multiple organisations to use the network. Salcom’s Satellite Paging system is operational across New Zealand and is being used by Fire & Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) and Ambulance New Zealand.
