Railway Trackside Phones

Salcom supplied KiwiRail (NZ) with a system designed to provide telephone communications. The requirement was to provide trackside phones installed in boxes that were to be mounted on poles, positioned at set locations or distances along the length of the track. The system allowed the train driver to make telephone calls in areas where radio communication was not possible.
