Courier Delivery “Hamit Tag” System

Operating rather like RFID, a dedicated receiver is programmed to sense the close proximity of a matching, coded, low-power transmitter, called a “Hamit Tag”, in order to initiate a specific application. In this scenario, a courier company was looking for a solution for occasions when a Driver may often leave the van door unlocked while delivering parcels inside a consignee’s building. The Hamit tag is worn by the driver, and transmits a continuous stream of data to the receiver. The data stream is then decoded and the door-lock activated and unlocked upon the Driver’s return. On these occasions the Driver may be fully laden with parcels and cartons and therefore unable to open the door with remote or physical key.
